There are around 1,300 inhabitants and the larger villages / towns are Szilvásvárad (known for the horses) at 12 km, Lillafüred known for the caves at 20 km, the city of Miskolc at 20 km and the larger town in the immediate vicinity is Ózd on a 15 km. Ózd is a city with more than 40,000 inhabitants. Surrounding the city is a hilly area with valleys and forests.

Sáta is close to the Lazberci National Park. The village itself has all local amenities and you can do your daily shopping in the village.

All in all a beautiful area for (mountain) walks, fishing, sightseeing, to view the beautiful landscape and to visit cities.
