Flights boost for 'awesome' antalya
British Airways has announced a new route to Antalya from next spring...
Flights will run from Gatwick Airport three times a week and is due to commence April 10th. There will also be regional flights from Stansted, Exeter, Sheffield/Doncaster and Newcastle.
“Antalya is in South West Turkey and is an increasingly popular leisure destination with new tourism facilities being developedâ€, says British Airways commercial director Robert Boyle.
Turkey is also one of the destinations in bmi’s expansion of 17 new routes. They already run from Heathrow but are noticeably expanding, seeing a ready market in flights direct to Turkey and again regional airports are supported with flights from Robin Hood Doncaster/Sheffield and Exeter.
“There is a strong possibility that Easy Jet could also extend into this part of Turkeyâ€, adds Robert, “as they already fly into Istanbul. Add to this a brand new airport scheduled for Alayna and you can see how this part of the world is really opening up. Competition from airlines can only bring cheaper flights.â€
Turkey going from ‘strength to strength’
Anatalya serves this part of the Mediterranean coastal resorts and gives easy access to mountain skiing, golf and watersports. Belek is a very popular part of Antalya area and boasts the most expensive hotel in Turkey. Calista Luxury Resort Hotel, which opened this year, is unique in Turkey with it’s a la carte/all inclusive concept. Hotels in the region are frequently fully booked, the year round weather and superb choice of quality golf courses bringing people in from around the world.
Added Robert, “There are fabulous US designed golf courses including a Nick Faldo Signature course. With investment from Russia, Germany and the UK the future is very bright for Turkeyâ€.
For the investor there are excellent opportunities to buy whilst the country is growing, with good capital growth potential. Robert Nixon of Nirvana International specialist developers in Turkey commented: “Increased flights from the UK to Turkey can only help to increase the number of tourists and investors, as this remarkable country goes from strength to strengthâ€.
