Cyprus breaks top five
New research from Co-operative Travel has revealed that Larnaca, Cyprus has been polled in the Top 5 holiday destinations for Brits in 2009...
The company believes that a combination of factors is pushing UK holidaymakers towards more established markets across the world.
Derek Hatton, Director of Cyprus estate agency Morpheus Investments, said that this comes as no surprise to the company as it chose Larnaca and nearby Tersefanou and Kiti to sell a range of villas and townhouses to British buyers.
"Larnaca is served by several, reliable airlines that ferry British property buyers and holidaymakers to the area and this is why we decided that, along with the English-based law system and 340 days of sunshine per year, to sell property in the region.
"It is important that a location has a strong touristic appeal and offers Brits something more than just price growth. This is why many more British buyers are coming to Cyprus and have fallen out of love with some of the speculative emerging markets that sprung up in the past few years."
Morpheus Investments has started sales of its latest project, the Larnaca Golf and Country Club. Due to be built in the town of Tersefanou, the resort will comprise of an 18-hole championship golf course, over 500 residences, breaking down to 285 two to four bedroom villas, 211 one, two and three bedroom apartments and 40 ‘hotel-style' rooms in the complex.
Alongside this will be a clubhouse, a village square and purpose built function rooms and spa facilities.
