Dr. Dre drops $40m on la mansion

Dr. Dre has dropped $40 million on a mansion in L.A.. The property, which formerly belonged to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, spans a whopping 14,000 square feet and was negotiated down from an asking price of $50 million, on the basis that the furntiture would not be included.

The mansion was listed six months after it was featured in Architectural Digest. Did that spread, with its photos of the "rock-scaped pool" and "koi-stocked moat", catch Dr. Dre's eye while he was selling Beats Electronic to Apple?
