Us airline giants swoop for ryanair customers
The giants of the US air industry are increasingly diving for Ryanair customers, as they introduce no-frills fares to compete with budget airlines.
United Airlines will launch a new economy fare this year, reports The Telegraph, which Vice Chairman Jim Compton describes as "entry-level fare that will appeal to the purely price-sensitive customer".
"This will allow us to compete with ultra-low-cost carriers for passengers looking for that price point."
It follows Delta Air Lines' own economy fares, introduced in 2014, and American Airlines' announcement last year that a budget ticket would also be introduced in 2016.
