Us fan builds downton abbey out of lego
The latest to join the trend is the ITV drama Downton Abbey. The programme, which aired a Christmas special during the holidays, has won over fans in both the UK and overseas. None were more devoted, though, than Eric Stevens. The 23 year old from Rochester, New York, built the titular country estate and its residents, the Crawley family out of LEGO as gift for his girlfriend.
Eric's custom-made set is the first time Downton has been given the LEGO treatment. He used computer software and aerial shots of Highclere castle (where the show is filmed) to design the brick counterparts of the aristocrats and their post-Edwardian home.
"I looked to see if anyone had created Downton Abbey Lego while watching last year," he told The Daily Mail. "I couldn't find any other ones, so I decided to build it myself as a gift fro my girlfriend, who also loves the show."
The designing process took him 15 hours, followed by four hours of assembling to complete the project.
