The six year old boy placed on a no-fly list
Syed Adam Ahmed has been a no-fly list since he was born. Whenever he travels by plane, he has to undergo additional security checks before he is allowed on board. He is six years old.
On New Year's Eve, the child was stopped at the airport when his family tried to fly to Boston for an ice hockey match. Air Canada displayed Adam as a "DHP" - or "Designated High Profile" passenger in need of special clearance.
This is nothing new for the family, though, his father told The Telegraph, saying it has occured dozens of times before.
Despite what appears to be an error, though, there has been no success in working out why this has happened - or attempting to get it resolved.
"I worked as a flight attendant for Air Canada for four years," Mr Ahmed told the newspaper. "I understand the need for air security."
Nonetheless, the airline has been uncooperative in investigating the matter.
"We have been told that they can’t even tell us if there is a list, or if he is or isn’t on it," he added. "When we were in Mexico for a family holiday they took away our passports for 30 minutes. You can imagine how that feels in a foreign country. No explanation was given."
"He is an innocent little boy who does nothing except perhaps not eat his vegetables in the evening," he added.
