Dubai first property market to embrace new ipms standards

The International Property Measurement Standards aim to eradicate any problems in the real estate industry caused by differing measurement standards around the globe. The Dubai Land Department announced its plans last month to form a committee to contribute to the new standards, which, it is hoped, will bring confidence and transparency to markets that implement them.

“Our involvement in this initiative supports our position in raising the benchmark for unifying surveying standards in Dubai,” said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the Dubai Land Department.

“The efforts to unify surveying standards should benefit property owners and investors, as it will negate some of the issues and problems that can arise from differing standards used by real estate operators.”
