Growth in northeast brazil surges ahead of the south
According to a recent news article by Exame.com, growth in the north east of Brazil remains strong compared with the south. According to the National Trade Confederation (CNC), household consumption fell 7.4 per cent across Brazil in June 2014 compared to the previous year but rose during the same period by 4.3 per cent in the north east.
Some of this boost in household consumption in the north east can be attributed to employment creation with 1 million jobs generated in the past 12 months - an increase of 4.9 per cent compared with an average national growth of 2 per cent . Labour tends to be cheaper in the north east and because of this, businesses are attracted to invest more in the region.
In addition, inflation in the north east was under 5 per cent in the 12 months to April 2014 compared with a national average of 6.4 per cent. In 2014, GDP in the north east is forecasted to grow by 2.6 per cent compared with the whole country at 1.8 per cent.
Northeast Brazil is a very popular destination for Brazilians. Last year 60 million Brazilians holidayed in Brazil. The majority visited the north east, drawn to the spectacular beaches, hurricane-free, fantastic weather all year round and warm seas. Being located so close to the equator, the sunrise and sunset occur at the same time each day throughout the year.
However, there is a serious lack of quality accommodation in the area to cater to this domestic tourism demand. New luxury hotel and residential group, Pure Resorts Hotels & Residences is perfectly placed to capitalise on this pent-up demand. The company’s development plan includes creating 5 five-star resorts in hand-picked coastal destinations in the north east of Brazil with each resort hotel offering five-star standards. Construction begins for the first two Pure Resorts - at Parnaíba and São Miguel de Gostoso later this year. Both are located on the beach, each will have a residential component and are very close to international airports.
Landcorp International, marketing agent for premium resort developments since 2007, is offering a limited number of off-plan plots at Pure Resorts Parnaíba from £25,000 to international investors. Ailse MacFarlane, Managing Director, explains, “Pure Resorts has pre-sold 50 plots in the past two weeks to local buyers for Pure Resorts Parnaíba. There is a huge appetite locally, which is why only 50 plots have been released to international buyers via Landcorp International. This is a really great investment opportunity as our clients can have the best of both worlds; they can keep their plot, build on it and enjoy even more capital growth or they can decide in 18-24 months to exit with their initial investment plus 24-36 per cent ROI with Pure Resorts’ developer buy-back guarantee.”
