Oprah winfrey splashes $14m on telluride ski home

Ski properties have become increasingly popular in the last year, as TheMoveChannel.com has previously reported, and now Oprah Winfrey is joining in.

The famous talk show host has bought an extravagant ski property in Telluride for $14 million.

The home has all the features you would expect for a media tycoon, from 3.25 acres of land, five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms and a 1,600-bottle wine cellar. The technology, meanwhile, is like something out of a science fiction movie, with a fibre-optic bridge connecting the bedroom to an office, a heated drive to keep it free of snow, a Finnish sauna with hacked higher temperatures, a bathtub that maintains the temperature of the water and, of course, a private funicular tram that leads to the slopes in just one minute.

The mansion was bought from businessman and African art collector Bob Wall, reports Variety's Real Estalker.
