Two us tourists arrested for carving initials on colosseum
Two US tourists have been arrested for carving their initials on the Colosseum in Rome.
The Californian women, aged 21 and 25, used a coin to carve "J" and "N" into the walls of the Italian landmark, reports newspaper La Stampa.
They were charged "aggravated damage on a building of historical and artistic interest" and apologised for their actions.
"We regret it," the women said, "but we did not imagine it was something so serious."
