Overseas property news - Jigsaw chief goes bananas

Jigsaw chief goes bananas

High-street tycoon John Robinson, who employed royal girlfriend Kate Middleton as an accessories buyer, can't resist buying property...

He has paid an estimated £400,000 for a 200-acre Caribbean banana plantation, where he plans to grow organic avocados, beans, tomatoes and aloe vera.

The St Vincent estate borders Mustique, where Robinson owns Villa Hibiscus, a five-bedroom villa with twin gazebos and an infinity pool where Kate and Prince William stayed last year.

The reclusive Jigsaw and Kew boutique chain founder also owns Sir Walter Raleigh's former hunting lodge near Bath, where he and his wife Belle run a 500-acre organic farm. Their main home remains in Chelsea.
