The charm of the french riviera
The French Riviera is a long-standing holiday destination that still manages to lure large numbers of tourists and celebrities to its sandy beaches and clear blue waters...
Events
like the Cannes Film Festival are reported worldwide and attract swarms of
media, fans, actors and spectators every year - ensuring the prosperity of the
region.
Of course Cannes is a well known holiday hotspot, as is St Tropez. But it has
been suggested that other towns along the Cote D'Azur may also be worthy of
investigation. Cap Ferrat, located to the east of Nice and the west of Monaco,
has been suggested as one such area by Linda Cookson, writing for the
Independent.
Glamour
According to Ms Cookson, this charming spot offers a number of walking trails
as well as plenty of sightseeing opportunities such as the Villa Ile de
France.
And what's more, Cap Ferrat enjoys the same glamour associated with nearby
Monaco or Cannes.
Furthermore, this beauty spot could also offer strong investment opportunities
for
French property buyers. Ms Cookson noted that the real estate in Cap
Ferrat is among the most expensive in the world, with many homes once occupied
by celebrities - such as La Fleur Du Cap, once inhabited by Charlie Chaplin and
at a later date, David Niven.
And for those keen to buy in the area, a new airport parking service is set to
be made available from May 2009. Azur Parking has suggested that owners of
property on the French Riviera may wish to use its facilities at Nice airport.
Timeless appeal
The firm stated that homeowners who only visit the region for part of the year
may want to leave their vehicle at its car park for a fixed annual fee, as
motorists will get free airport transfers under the deal and will save on taxi
and car hire costs too.
"Many owners of a holiday home on the Cote d'Azur spend more money on taxi
fare and car hire than on airfare," founder of Azur Parking Jack van Maas
remarked.
Indeed with such schemes springing up the area, making the leap to becoming a
French homeowner could seem even easier. And combined with the recent news that
100 per cent loan-to-value mortgages are available in the country through
French

Perhaps now is the perfect time to seek a palatial villa on the Cote d'Azur. Direct, the timeless appeal and ease of lifestyle associated with
the French Riviera may seem ever more attractive.
