Google Street View has landed in Dubai, as a new partnership with Jumeirah creates a hotel industry first: an immersive virtual tour through Burj Al Arab.
The "world's must luxurious hotel", as dubbed by Jumeirah, can now be walked through from top to bottom at the click of a mouse via Jumeirah Inside. The virtual platform features 360-degree videos and interactive photos of each floor of the building, even enabling users to make hotel bookings.
Ross McAuley, Group Vice President of Brand, Digital and Loyalty, Jumeirah Group, says: "Just as we aim to exceed our guests' expectations whenever they visit our luxury hotels around the world, so is our aim to give an unforgettably rich, immersive online experience in advance of their arrival. This is a world first for the hospitality sector. Jumeirah Inside has been initiated for us by Google’s dedicated creative team. The platform works across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, in five languages, offering a film-focused exploration of the world's most luxurious hotel, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah."
Informative hotspots are clickable throughout the tour, with each new area introduced by a video giving a visitors' eye view.
"This is not just a tour through a building, it’s a journey through a brand," argues the company. Whatever you call it, it's certainly different.
