The acting legend, famous for his portrayal of Captain Picard in Star Trek, has been winning fans around the world with a string of photos taken by him and his fellow Waiting for Godot star Ian McKellen in a variety of silly poses. The home, though, is no laughing matter.
Stewart and his wife, Wendy Neuss, set phasers to buy in 2003 for the sum of $1.8 million. When the couple divorced, Ms. Neuss moved into the apartment full-time, but the pair have now decided to part with the pad.
"Circumstances have changed," she told the New York Times.
The penthouse's wraparound terrace, though, remains the same. Indeed, it was this feature that won over the partners initially, with Ms. Neuss wasting no time in landscaping a lush terrace garden to go with the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The property is located on the 16th floor of a 1925 building and shares an elevator landing with one other residence. A walk-in pantry allows extra room for the expansion of the 9-by-6-foot kitchen.
"When you’re inside the apartment, it seems like the outdoors comes right in, too, like you’re surrounded by nature," notes Neuss.
The price to live like Sir Patrick Stewart? $3.995 million, with a maintenance fee of $3,468 PHC.
