Portugal ‘going through the roof’

James Aitken, a director of Quinta Sales, commented that the country had grown enormously in popularity and made "the perfect holiday resort", with more sunshine than anywhere else in Europe, widespread sporting and children's facilities, a large variety of restaurants and good air access, with easyJet making it their hub.

Mr Aitken added that the property laws in Portugal were similar to those in England, making freehold property easy to deal with.

Last year property inspection firm Sunspace Properties predicted that Portugal would see property prices rise by 300 per cent in the next seven years.
