Travel website Travelocity’s list names the top 13 spookiest places around the planet for Halloween holidaymakers. Louisiana’s city was ranked the top hotspot for a ghostly getaway. Considered to be the most haunted city in America, it is home to ghost tours in the Garden Distrct and haunted hotels such as the Hotel Monteleono.
“Be on the lookout for child-like spirits” warns Travelocity.
Chicago was ranked second place in the charts thanks to the city’s eerie past, citing The Congress Plaza Hotel on Michigan Avenue as being the location of “unexplained noises” and moving objects.
Salem, Massachusetts, is third on the list after its history of witch hunting in the 17th Century Travelocity highlights Hawthorne Hotel, located in the heart of Salem, with residents and guests reporting “strange occurrences especially in room 325 and suite 612”.
Other international locations include Vancouver, British Colombia, Ottawa, Ontario, Sydney and London.
The list is rounded out, of course, by Bran in Romani, home to Bram Castle, where the legendary Count Dracula is said to have lived.
