The triplex, located on Lake Shore Drive in his old NBA haunt of Chicago, was bought by the ex-couple back in the 1990s. While the basketball legend was making screen history with Space Jam, their four-bedroom pad was no less remarkable, taking up both the 39th and 40th floors of its building, not to mention its roof space. Its innards boasted everything from a private elevator foyer to panoramic views of the city, Italian porcelain floor tiles and, of course, a rooftop solarium.
The pair divorced in 2006, which left Juanita Jordan with the £3 million penthouse and Michael with the 56,000 square-foot mansion in Highland Park. Jordan attempted to sell the estate at auction in December last year, but could not find a buyer.
Juanita, who is a licenced real estate agent, has faced similar difficulties. In 2007, she snapped up a $4.725 million mansion in River North, prompting her to eventually list the Chicago flat in 2012 for $5 million. This was slashed to $4.3 million one year later, before dropping once again to $4 million February 2014.
Now, though, the 55 year old has finally closed the sale, slam dunking $3.2 million in the process. Michael's manor remains on the market for $16 million.
