Londoners love ‘laid-back’ italy
A survey has revealed that Londoners see Italy as the most desirable place to buy property...
Of 1,655 people questioned tickbox.net, a quarter of Londoners (27 per cent) chose Italy as the most desirable place to move to, citing the warm weather (80 per cent), food (61 per cent), laid-back approach (57 per cent) and work-life balance (50 per cent) as the top benefits of a Mediterranean lifestyle.
Brits are buying in Italy in record numbers, and there is a big range of property types and locations to choose from, including mountain retreats in Abruzzo, homes on the shores of Lake Garda, smart Venetian apartments and restored Tuscan mills.
Sarah Child, property agent at Each Property, says, "Italy offers some stunning scenery and a vast choice of property to choose from. With cheap flights to many of its cities and with the prices of property in Italy still reasonable you can see why many Brits are heading to Italy to buy a second property. Italy has long been a firm favourite with British property buyers who love the culture, food and history that Italy offers in abundance".
