Rupert murdoch snaps up new york condo for $57.2m
Rupert Murdoch has snapped up a New York condo for $57.2 million. Not content with his media empire, the newspaper tycoon is continuing to expand his real estate empire too, picking up a triplex penthouse at the top of New York's One Madison Tower.
In addition to the 7,00 square-foot penthouse, Murdoch bought up the space around it too, giving him the top four floors of the building. The purchase joins a vineyard in Los Angeles, which he recently bought for $30 million.
The condo has "uninterrupted cinematic views of Manhattan, river to river and from the World Trade Center to the uptown tip of Madison Avenue," read a press release from One Madison (published by Curbed), although the blog notes that The Wall Street Journal originally had the story as an exclusive. Naturally, Murdoch owns that too.
