Vef calls in creditors

One of the most recognised names in the French property business, VEF, has closed down...

A meeting of the creditors of VEF will be held at 3 Field Court, Gray's Inn, London WC1R 5EF on 23rd March 2009 at 2.45 pm.

Creditors should forward details of the amount due to them by the Company (together with a statement of account where applicable) to Antony Batty & Company LLP, 3 Field Court, Gray's Inn, London WC1R 5EF not later than 12 noon on 20th March 2009.

A representative of Validus, which is the mortgage side of the VEF Group, said, "Clients buying property were dealt with before VEF went into administration."

French property site This French Life reported that the end of VEF comes a few months after the closure of the French News newspaper, and the end of Merricks Media, publisher of French magazine, although it is hoped that the title will be resurrected.
