New district for barcelona

Dutch Architect Kees Kaan has been asked to design a new district in the Spanish city of Barcelona...

Mr Kaan will work together with a Spanish urban development expert. The Dutch architect was awarded the assignment after he won an international competition.

The new district, which will be built between Barcelona and the city's airport, will include offices, businesses and homes.

In the Netherlands, Mr Kaan designed the building housing the Netherlands Forensic Institute near The Hague. The Architect teaches civil engineering at the Delft University of Technology.
