World's tallest tower targets wealthy buyers

World One Tower is under construction at the moment, boasting 300 residential units, including apartments and penthouses. In a world where prime property units come onto the market every day, though, the Indian development has a claim to make it stand head and shoulders above the rest of the market: once completed, it will be the tallest residential sky scraper int he world.

The building will tower over the Arabian Sea, climbing 117 storeys up into the Mumbai sky. The apartments, which have been unveiled exclusively by The Telegraph, boast interiors designed by Giorgio Armani, not to mention access to a gym, spa and the site's very own private cricket pitch.

The project will be completed in 2016 with prices starting from £1.4 million. Developer Lodha has already found the people it thinks will buy the apartments: Indian investors based in London.

London estate agency Wetherell Estates is tasked with marketing the homes, with Mayfair's wealthy Indian community the primary target. Indeed, the company's previous reports show that Indian investors have bought more than £1 billion of luxury London homes in the past 18 months.
