Indonesian buyers take up to nine months to find a home
Buyers in Indonesia take up to nine months to find and buy a new home, according to research by Rumah.com.
Investors take a shorter period of four months to find and purchase their dream property, as they conduct less research.
The portal's research found that estate agents significantly helped to reduce the time spent house-hunting.
"According to Rumah.com’s research, there are three types of property seekers in Indonesia: first-time buyers, who are looking to purchase their first house; upgraders, who intend to buy a larger second home to accommodate growing family size; and investors, who want to take advantage of property investment. The latter are generally familiar with the services of a property agency. With the help of real estate agents, they do not require a long time to make up their mind in purchasing a property. This is different from the first-time buyers and upgraders, which can take about nine months," said Ike Hamdan, Head of Marketing, Rumah.com.
