Tee-time in dubai
Next week's Dubai
Desert Classic is
expected to bring sports fans from around the world into the emirate city...
Beginning on January 29th at the Emirates
Golf Club, the European Tour-sanctioned golf event will see some of the
world's top players compete for a prize pool of £1.8 million.
The profile of the tournament has already been raised with the confirmation
that players such as Ernie Els, Sergio Garica and Lee Westwood will be present
in Dubai.
Westwood, who works as an ambassador for organisers Golf in Dubai, said that the tournament has become an
important date on the calendar of professional golf.
"The Dubai Desert Classic's a big event which attracts the world's leading
players each year. The event is getting worldwide recognition," the
English player commented.
"We are expected to tell everybody how good it is. But we don't have much
to tell really, because Dubai
sells itself."
Although property prices have fallen in Dubai
recently, propertwire.com has claimed that such drops are set to benefit the
market by having a stabilising effect.
