Brash new TV star Piers Morgan has copied A-list celebs such as Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty and Barbra Streisand in making Los Angeles' five-star Beverly Wilshire Hotel his second home...

While filming America's Got Talent for four months a year he occupies the suite where Richard Gere and Julia Roberts stayed in Pretty Woman.

"It's canny of Piers to stay at the Wilshire," reports my Hollywood source. "If he'd rented a Beverly Hills villa instead it would have cost him twice as much because he'd have had to employ a cook, maid and, knowing Piers, a butler."

He usually lives in a Fulham penthouse near Chelsea Harbour.
