Brits are australia's highest earning migrants
Expats from the UK are the highest earning migrants in Australia, according to new figures.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that, as of 2010/2011, skilled workers accounted for the majority of migrant income (72 per cent) Down Under. The UK, India and China together account for 49 per cent of skilled workers in the country, with Britain's earning the most at $10 billion, followed by India's ($6.5 billion).
"This is the second release of experimental data on migrants’ personal income. Results again show some distinct differences influenced by visa stream, number of jobs held, country of birth and gender," says Jenny Dobak from the ABS.
