Us school of dubai: new campus
The American School of Dubai is in the process of moving to a new campus to cater to its growing community...
The school now has almost 1,000
students and serves the growing American community, which is estimated to be
around 15,000 in Dubai, said Paul Sutphin, US Consul General in Dubai.
The school will eventually move in 2010 to its new campus, occupying four times
the area of the present school, said David Stockwell, Chairman of the board and
a consul general of Dubai
in the 1980s.
The new campus, with a total cost of more than £72 million, is set to
accommodate 1,600 pupils from kindergarten through to Grade 12.
According to Sutphin, there is a growing demand in the UAE for American
education as it is a flexible system covering all areas of education and
learning.
The American School in Dubai currently has students of 30 nationalities.
