France ‘always a safe bet'
France is
set to retain its status as one of British property investors' favourite
locations, claims one company...
Patrick Joseph, Director of my-french-house.com, believes that
the country will always remain a safe bet with foreign investors, due to its
proximity to the UK and relatively stable housing market.
Mr Joseph said: "France is a very special place. It's not like Spain or
Bulgaria or America. It's the lifestyle - it's the whole package with France.
"People don't just want a place in the sun. It's France they want and
nowhere else."
Mr Joseph conceded that the number of enquiries had fallen since the onset of
the credit crunch, but there was still strong investment interest.
Statistics from the Association of International Property Professionals showed that
in 2007, 17 per cent of all foreign housing purchases by Britons were in
France.
