Tour operators call for fco to lift everest ban
Tour operators are calling for the Foreign Office to relax its guidance on travel to Nepal following April's earthquake.
Several months after the tragic quake and it still sending shockwaves through the country's tourism industry, which is a major driver of the Nepalese economy. The British government, though, continues to advice against travel to the country, which prevents British travellers from getting insurance.
"If they wait any longer to lift their travel warning it will be too late for this season which will have dreadful consequences in the country," Pete Burrell, MD of Exodus Travel, told The Telegraph.
"The sooner they lift this effective ‘ban’, the sooner Nepal can recover properly. By continuing with this the FO is kicking a country that is already on the canvas."
