Thieves rob villa next to portuguese president’s holiday home

Despite being located just a stone’s throw from President Cavaco Silva’s property, which is surveyed 24-hours a day by the GNR, the thieves seemingly took advantage of the couple’s dinner-date to rob the villa.

According to newspaper Correio da Manhã, the theft occurred somewhere between 8pm and 10pm as the couple were dining out.

The newspaper reported that the robbers did not break into the luxury villa, but apparently found a door or window that had been left open. More: The Portugal News
