Spanish house price decline slows down

Data from the Ministry of Development show that the number of home sales in Spain fell 6.8 per cent between July 2013 and September. The fall in sales was accompanied by another fall in prices, but values slipped by only 4.5 per cent, the lowest decrease recorded since the start of 2011.

Accordng to the Ministry, prices per square metre overall have fallen 28.8 per cent since the market's peakin 2008.

Four regions, meanwhile, saw values increase: the Balearic Islands (4.8 per cent), Navarra (4.3 per cent), Extremadura (2.8 per cent) and Madrid (0.3 per cent).
