The Skytower will stretch 90 storeys into the sky, making it the tallest tower in the city and the third tallest building in the country (behind the Gold Coast's Q1 and Melbourne's Eureka Tower).

The development is a joint between between Billbergia, based in Sydney, and AMP Capital, whose partnership has also brought 870 new apartments to the Australian capital.

Now, though, Billbergia are setting their sites on helping Brisbane to become one of the world's top lifestyle destinations.

The developer's Managing Director, John Kinsella, tells News.com.au: "Brisbane has a passionate desire to become one of the world’s top ten lifestyle cities and its transformation has already begun.

"Brisbane Skytower will take advantage of the opportunity to meet demand for premium, yet attainable, dwellings in the CBD and presents an exciting opportunity for local, interstate and international investors to be a part of Brisbane’s journey towards ‘new world city’ status."

The building will include a range of one, two and three-bed apartments, sub-penthouses and penthouses, totalling 1,100 residential units. Properties on the the upper floors will stretch beyond the Brisbane River, while the 89th floor - one below the roof - will be dedicated to recreation, boasting Australia's highest infinity pool.
