Photo of the week: models painted to blend into landmarks
Trina Merry spent hours meticulously painting the bodies of models in the city to camouflage them against well-known buildings, from the Guggenheim Museum to the Empire State Building.
The result is a bizarre portrait of humans and architecture that blurs the boundaries between admiring our surroundings and getting in the way of them.
"I wanted to engage the city and understand it and make some observations," Merry commented. "So instead of a person right in front of the Empire State building or the Statue of Liberty, they’re softly in the background, and you’ve got more of a reflective view of the person within the landscape."
