Celebrity homes: ryan reynolds relists rich residence

Reynolds, who starred in Green Lantern, has not had the best luck in the superhero box office battles: while Batman and Superman have been announced for a duet appearance in Man of Steel 2 in 2015, Reynolds’ franchise remains green with envy.

The actor will be hoping that he will have better success in real estate: his repeat run at retailing the residence follows two previous attempts.

He picked up the pad in Outpost Estate for $1.715 million back before he married Scarlett Johansson. The couple stayed in a different property during their marriage, which they then sold. All the while, Reynolds was trying to offload his Hollywood Hills house but failed to find a buyer.

He had another stab at it in the more favourable economic climate of 2011, reducing the price down to $1.69 million. Since then, Reynolds has married again to Blake Lively and is now living with her in Bedford, New York.

And so he has relisted his house once again. From an initial glance, it does not look like the sort of extravagance house hunters have come to expect from celebrity owners: boasting just two bedrooms and two and a half baths, it spans 1,789 square feet. The most exciting features? Hardwood floors, reports Zillow, plus solar heating and a private, landscape garden. Compared to Richard Gere’s $65 million mansion, also listed this month, it is the kind of house a normal member of the public could buy - presuming they have the requisite funds.

The price now? An even lower $1.599 million.
