Become taylor swift's neighbour for £10m
Taylor Swift fans could become the pop star's new neighbour, if they have £10 million to spare. The singer, who has scored the biggest-selling album of the year, has caused controversy in her local community of Rhode Island.
Her Watch Hill estate, which she bought for $17 million in 2013, has become a hub for celebrity parties, but she has upset residents by repairing a crumbling seawall along the coastline. The wall, which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, was rebuilt by the star, an act that was approved with the local authorities, but also left those around her annoyed at their sudden lack of beach access.
"It was bad enough when she moved in, but to ruin a part of the town for all of us," a neighbour told TMZ. "This is a whole new level of hate."
Haters, though, are going to hate - and now, one lucky buyer can help balance out public opinion by snapping up a property just two doors down from Miss Swift. The oceanfront estate, located high on the bluffs of Watch Hill, dates back to 1903 and boasts 10 bedrooms - three more than Taylor's paid - and nine full baths, plus eight fireplaces and two fully-equipped kitchens.
The price to be near Taylor Swift? £10 million, or $14.9 million. If you happen to be a rich pop star too, though, you could just shake that price tag off.
