Bullish balearics riding high

Some Spanish Islands are offering better returns than others, claims one expert…

Mark Stucklin, head of investment advice for Spanishpropertyinsight.com, explained: “Islands which escaped large-scale development are doing better than other parts of Spain as the property market cools off.

“The Spanish islands, and in particular the Balearics, comprising Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, are not suffering as much as some other parts of Spain since the recent downturn in the property market.

“Areas such as the Costas had suffered in recent times from the price correction and the credit crunch, apart from a few pockets of quality.

”The Balearic islands have managed to maintain a more upmarket positioning with less off-plan investment type products these areas are now being seen as the best survivors in a tough situation.
