Dubai plans to welcome 20 million tourists

Dubai has announced plans to become the most-visited city in the world, welcoming 20 million tourists per year by 2020.

The coveted global title currently belongs to London, which saw 16.8 million visitors in 2013, its highest annual figure since 1961.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "These record-breaking figures are a tribute to the outstanding mix of culture, art, music and sport to be found here and more is planned."
