Simpsons fan builds springfield out of lego

Matt De Lanoy (real name Pepa Quin) posted his photos of the city on Flickr and has since seen them go viral. The painstakingly stacked bricks include everything from The Simpsons' hometown you could expect, from Moe's Tavern to Krusty Burger. There is even a Kwik-E-Mart featuring a mini Squishee machine - and, of course the nuclear power plant complete with the family's familiar pink car parked outside.

The artist, from Illinois, decided to undertake the ambitious project in honour of the programme's 550th episode, Brick Like Me, which Sees Homer wake up to discover Springfield has been turned into LEGO pieces.
