At a glance: split steals the croatian property spotlight
Split continues to steal the Croatian property spotlight, according to TheMoveChannel.com's latest At a Glance infographic. The report, which compares Croatia's real estate in the 12 months to June 2015 with the same period two years ago, reveals that the southern area remains the most popular part of the country. Demand has risen for the Split-Dalmatia county, accounting for almost 6 in 10 enquiries on the site (58.8 per cent), up from 44 per cent in the year to June 2013.
Indeed, the Adriatic Coast attracts the most attention from international hosue-hunters, as the area's beaches and tourism industry continue to fuel the country's growing market.
Hvar has overtaken Split as the hotspot of choice among foreign buyers: the island is now the most sought-after location in Croatia, accounting for 8 per cent of all location-based searches in the country. Split, meanwhile, has fallen into second place, with 6.6 per cent of searches. In total Split-Dalmatia is home to six of the 10 most searched-for locations.
Dubrovnik is the next most popular area of the country, home to two of the 10 most sought-after places. The county of Dubrovnik-Neretva also accounts for 15.3 per cent of enquiries, ahead of Zahar (11.6 per cent). Dubrovnik is also a beach hotspot, with its stunning shoreline used for locations in popular TV show Game of Thrones.
Indeed, the Coast remains the key to Croatia's international appeal: in real terms, searches have risen for harbour town Trogir by 7 per cent in the past two years and by 15 per cent for the beautiful island of Vis in the Adriatic Sea.
The At a Glance infographic also charts buyer behaviour on Google. Compared to the 12 months to June 2013, searches for "property for sale in Croatia" have risen, although searches for the more general "property in Croatia" have fallen. There is also a significant increase in the number of searches for "houses for sale in Croatia".
TheMoveChannel.com Director Dan Johnson comments: "Two years ago, Croatia joined the EU, which spelled a promising future for the country's property market. Since then, demand for Split-Dalmatia has notably increased, rather than spread wider across the country. Overseas interest is still driven by tourist activity, but the appeal of Split and Dalmatia has risen. There have also been shifts in buyer preferences, as the island of Hvar overtakes Split to become the Adriatic hotspot of choice."

Feature property listings in your publication!
Our technical team has developed a great new solution for content publishers that allows the addition of high impact advertising units, which can be configured to show property listings, relevant to a type of property, country, region or a specific location.
There are 2 types of implementation:
• Standard Ad Units: These show in 120,600, 160x600, 300x150, 300x250, 300x500, 300x750 and 728x90 formats, with a varying number of listings showing in each version.
• Dynamic Portfolio: This is a completely configurable panel, where you can choose the number of columns and rows, plus the size of the listings and dedicate a section of a page, or even a whole page to a set of properties.
