South america: the breadbasket of the world?

As global food prices rise relentlessly, agricultural land is starting to be seen as the ideal addition to any investment portfolio.

With growing food prices rarely out of the news, agricultural land owners will continue to profit - the global population is estimated to increase by 75 million people every year and the need for food will only increase.

South America is often viewed as the bread basket of the world; now even more so. Argentina and Brazil are both massive exporters of the soft commodities the world needs.

Argentina is the main supplier to the EU of soft commodities, and in 2006 it signed trade agreements with China and India to supply each of those growing economies with crops.

Greengold Capital offers the investor the chance to benefit from the continued rise in arable land prices, without tying the investor in for long periods.

A three year investment will give the investor a 48% capital return net of local tax. The simplicity of the investment also appeals to investors as everything is fully managed, so they are not going to have to plough through paperwork.

Many of the UK leading Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) providers are allowing SIPP holders to put it into their pension.

Project Manager Stefan Raywood said, “The response has been amazing, investors are very positive about investing in agriculture and with the current rise in food costs likely to continue, who wouldn’t want to profit?

“Greengold Capital has really caught the attention of our city based clients, who have been our biggest respondents,” added Mr. Raywood.

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has recently invested in 30,000 hectares of farm land in Sudan, which is seen as the first step of ensuring food security for the emirate.

"This news is not surprising as agricultural land is very valuable, and continuing to rise in price. I expect we will see far more of this type of news story in the coming months.”

Greengold Capital is an ideal addition to any investor’s portfolio. The investment starts at £20,000. For investments over £100,000 the returns increase to a net profit of 51%.
