Grain prices down, as midwest farmland values hold
Farmland values held steady in the US Midwest and Delta region at the end of 2014, despite falling grain prices and decreasing farm income,
Grain land values edged up 0.8 per cent year-on-year in the final quarter of 2014, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, while ranch or pasture land prices dipped 2.6 per cent across the same period.
"Farm income, farm household spending and capital equipment expenditures all declined in the fourth quarter relative to the same period a year earlier," said the report.
