Qatar cuts down plans for world cup stadiums

Qatar has cut down the number of stadiums it plans to build for the 2012 World Cup.

The nation won the right to host the tournament in 2010 and planned to erect 12 new stadiums for the event. Now, though, rising costs and delays in construction has prompted the country to reduce that to eight stadiums, reports Bloomberg.
