Overseas property news - Morocco boom being ‘ignored’

Morocco boom being ‘ignored’

The British press does not place enough emphasis on Morocco, claims one analyst.

Sharif Hikmat Nashashibi of Arab Media Watch, explained: “Morocco has become a hotspot of activity for both holidaymakers and overseas property buyers from the UK in the last few years, but this is not being reflected in Britain's various media outlets.

This is a rather surprising state of affairs, especially as Morocco also enjoys good diplomatic relations with the UK. Morocco received good press, but not as much as one would expect given its traditional attraction to tourists."

This comes after figures from the Moroccan Government revealed that the country attracted about 7.45 million holidaymakers last year. Authorities are currently aiming to increase this figure to ten million by 2010.
