New phuket airport terminal to land in february

A new termninal at Phuket International Airport will land in February 2014, boosting the area's tourism industry and property market.

Phuket's Terminal X will open its doors on 5th February, the Bangkok Post reports, and will help the airport to deal with a growing number of visitors. Indeed, 192 flights a week are currently handled by the airport, up from 170 last year.

The new terminal will have the capacity to serve 5 million passengers a year - roughly 4,000 people per hour - in a move that is expected to help to alleviate congestion and encourage the already growing tourism industry Thailand. Indeed, the airport is estimated to have welcomed 10.5 million passengers in 2013.
