Silver coast ‘going for gold’
Investors have been urged to consider Portugal’s newest potential hotspot…
A UK-based property portal claims that while the Algarve remains ever popular for those wishing to invest in Portugal, the Silver Coast offers something "more speculative"
Nick Marr, chief executive officer of Homesgofast.com, commented: “The Algarve benefits from its proximity to Faro airport and several golf courses - potentially adding value to house prices. However, the Silver Coast, which stretches from north of Lisbon to just north of Nazare, offers a more authentic version of Portugal.
"If you want an investment that's a bit more speculative, then I would go for the Silver Coast area. I think that will be a big area in the next few years. A report in the Telegraph in 2007 claimed that a new two-bedroom flat with a sea view would cost £100,000 and could be rented for £400 a week during the high season.
â€While flights from the UK are harder to come by for the Silver Coast, properties are often half the price of elsewhere in the nation, which could see it become popularâ€.
