Turkey is officially the most popular tourist destination for the British and Irish in 2008 according to the Co-op Travel...

For the last 40 years, Spain was always in the number one spot; however with a weak Euro to Pound, Turkey has seen an increase of nearly 30 per cent in tourism from the British and Irish this summer.

One of the most popular resorts in Turkey is Kusadasi which is a 45 minute drive from Izmir International airport.

It is also 15 minutes away from Ephesus and the house of the Virgin Mary (one of the Seven Wonders of the World) with tourists from all over the world paying regular visits.

Kusadasi Harbour is also one of the biggest ports of Turkey and is visited by many well known cruise companies including Grand Princess, which is one of the largest transatlantic cruise ships.

Kusadasi is also home to the new 110,000 square metre convention Centre, which will be completed next summer and will start to take its first bookings in 2010. It will be the largest Centre in Turkey and one of the largest in Europe and is sure to have a positive effect on year-round tourism.

The one thing lacking in Kusadasi at the moment is luxury accommodation. There are five stars rated hotels but these are not internationally rated five star hotels. This leaves a very large gap in the market and a great need to build more luxury hotel accommodation.

Royal Resorts Turkey will now build the first international five star apart-hotel in conjunction with the Miracle Beach Club on Ladies Beach in Kusadasi.

There will be 280 luxury fully furnished apartments all with direct sea views looking towards the Greek Island of Samos. There will also be 63 commercial units within the shopping Centre in the hotel.

Every apartment will be sold with a seven per cent guaranteed rental income for 10 years and investors will also have the option of selling back the apartment to the developer at 20 per cent more than the original purchase price should they not wish to take the guaranteed rental.

Royal Residence will be built next to the Miracle Beach Club which is classed as one of the best beach clubs and night clubs in Kusadasi. Owners and visitors of Royal Residence will have full access to the club both day and night free of charge.

Within the complex there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas, spa and massage facilities, beauty Salon, hairdressers, cinema, ten pin bowling, tennis, crèche, 24 hour baby-sitting, doctors, pharmacy, supermarket and much more. All of these facilities make the hotel complex entirely self sufficient.

A spokesman for Royal Resorts said, "We can see the present and future potential growth in Kusadasi and we want our investors along with ourselves to take advantage of the situation and at the same time provide a better quality choice to the tourists of Kusadasi.

"Our goal is make the Royal Resorts brand the first choice for tourists and business professionals when they are planning to visit Kusadasi.

"We will set new standards in customer service, efficiency and professionalism and we are certain that this will have a positive effect with all of the community and local businesses," added the spokesman.
