Hong kong home sales fall, despite december boost
Home sales in Hong Kong fell in 2015, despite a last-minute boost in December.
According to the Land Registry, residential sales in Hong Kong rebounded in December, totaling 4,043, up 43.1 per cent from November. A total of 2,153 primary residential sales transactions were recorded, more than doubling those in November, while secondary home sales increased 6.4 per cent.
However, total sales still declined 12.3 per cent year-on-year, with primary sales down 0.2 per cent and secondary sales down 16.6 per cent, which Knight Frank attributes to both landlords and buyers having a wait-and-see attitude amid various uncertainties in both local and external markets.
