Carlos santana loses nearly a million on vegas home

What happens in Vegas... causes no end of trouble for home sellers, be they everyday Joes or guitar-playing legends. Carlos Santana found that out for himself this month when he sold his home for almost $1 million less than he originally planned.
The luxury desert home was built in 2009, oozing rock star appeal in almost every nook and cranny: skylights, elevators, four bedrooms, six btahs, fire pits, cinemas, a swimming pool... everything you could possibly want, you can bet Santana's pad had it.
But Carlos found his real estate hand on a losing streak when he listed it for sale in March 2013. His asking price was a cool $3.75 million, but when he struggled to find a buyer, he slashed the price by $250,000 in August. Even then, the $3.5-million price tag, which is what he paid for it in 2010, could not attract a buyer, so he had to chop off an even larger sum.
The state-of-the-art home, located at the exclusive Ridges at Summerlin, was finally sold by Santana for $2.85 million last month, a drop in price of almost $1 million.
Before you feel sorry for Carlos, though, Realtor.com points out that Carlos has already found himsef a new home: a $6 million property just down the street, boasting audio and video equipment worth $2 million alone. Santana may have lost his Las Vegas hand, but the new house certainly wins.
