Property values rocket all over california

According to the state's Board of Equalization, the assessed value of property jumped 8.3 percent in Santa Clara County, and helped drive up values all over the Bay Area. Changes in ownership and lots of new construction pushed up values in Silicon Valley.
Property values in the Bay Area as a whole rose 5.5 percent. Increases in specific counties were:
- San Mateo County: 5.7 percent
- Alameda County: 5 percent
- San Francisco County: 4.5 percent
- Contra Costa County: 3.4 percent
In Southern California overall, values jumped 4 percent. Los Angeles County saw an increase of 4.7 percent, and Orange County jumped 3.6 percent.
